I’ve always loved the little cluster of restaurants and bars that’s strewn around West 4th street. The tungsten balanced film also gave a nice cast to the image, versus the typically orange-centric colors of standard daylight balanced color neg.

The sky matched the colors of the blue lights on the side of the Gansevoort Hotel, and I had to photograph it. This is a 7 second exposure.
(I rescanned and uploaded the clean file, no more streaks from the negative carrier.)

About 1:00 in the morning…
I shot this on Kodak PMZ1000, a long discontinued color neg film from the 90s. The stock I have of it all expired over 10 years ago, and it has not been refrigerated. If I hadn’t told you this, would you have ever guessed from the photograph?
Didn’t think so.
