Once upon a time, I loaded a roll of Fuji 400H into my Nikon F4. I shot half of it shortly afterwards, and it remained there for another 3 months, on exposure 19 or something. At some point after that, I decided I wanted to use my F4 in the studio, so I rewound the Fuji roll, and left the leader out so I could finish the rest of the frames later. I forgot to label it with the number I was supposed to skip to. A few weeks down the line, I threw it in the camera, business as usual, and forgot it was partially exposed. This is what happened.
