You’ll probably recognize the location in this print as being the same vacant building that was in the color photograph I posted two weeks back.
As I said in that posting, I adore this place when it’s empty.
Printed on Oriental VCFB-II and toned in selenium.
HALF GALLERY - 11.11.11 by CHRISTOPHER LANGE
I finally got a chance to revisit this neg, 5 months after the fact. I shot this (as it says in the title) on 11/11/11, at Terry Richardson’s opening at HALF. There were hordes of people trying to get in, as well as a staggering amount of attendees already in the tiny closet-space of a gallery that is HALF.
I was standing by the window, looking out at the crowd, when my attention was caught by the guy who is looking straight at me, as well as the girl on the lower right. The fact that the girl in the lower left had her face lined up perfectly within the letter “D” on the glass was a happy accident.
This is a scan of a print, by the way, not a neg. I’m making a series of new 11x14” photographs from a number of selected 35mm negatives from the past year and a half or so. Keep an eye out.
Yours,
Chris.
